Standing Committee on Precursors
Mission
To assist in, and monitor, the implementation of the Regulation (EU) 98/2013 on the marketing and use of explosives precursors, and to provide expertise to the Commission when preparing delegated acts and guiding materials. These efforts are to contribute to the security of our citizens by enhancing the security of explosives precursors, and thus to contribute to the prevention of the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) by terrorists or criminals.
Task
• Assist the Commission in relation to the implementation of existing Union legislation, programmes and policies
• Assist the Commission in the preparation of delegated acts
• Assist the Commission in the preparation of legislative proposals and policy initiatives
• Coordinate with Member States, exchange of views
